It’s finally Fall, and we’re celebrating the seasonal equinox by getting back in-touch with nature. Scout the Flea for camping gear before your adventure under the stars. Pick-up vintage knapsacks, find a fishing pole or two, and pack a palette to paint plein-aire. Spend your days admiring the scenery with a packed picnic lunch, while your nights are filled with star counting and fireside sips from your favorite flask.
Homebodies, just ready to hunker-down, find comfort in oversized sweaters, mugs of spiked tea, natural wood beaded jewelry, and front porch pumpkin patches. It’s also the season for heavy coats in the closets and comfort food in the kitchen. Bake-up one of Mom’s classic dishes in cast iron crockery, then serve us something warm to eat. We’re ready to tuck-in until winter comes!

School’s back in session, which means we’re all about apples, long skirts, dorm decor, and fall sports. Study up in our pop-up book shop to celebrate Cleveland Book Week, which features booths for local booksellers and readings by Cleveland youth authors. Pick-up a classic and stretch out for a plaid picnic and an afternoon of academic indulgence. Sip a spiked tea, swap wine for whiskey, and liven-up your coffee with a spirit! Finally, it’s fall... fill your closet with warm hues to prepare for impending autumn chills. Reds, oranges, blacks, and browns are your friends… invite them into your home with upholstered chairs, woven pillow coverings, bold bar decor, and seasonal prints and wallpaper patterns.

Guide to August Flea

Join 150 local vendors at The Cleveland Flea’s third outdoor event of 2017, August Flea, on Saturday, August 12 from 9am-4pm. Follow up with Food Flea the following afternoon for a chill Sunday Funday. We’re relishing the last days of summer while the days still seem endless. Join us outside for a bit as we relax in the warm air, stretched out at our favorite sunning spots along the lake. Don’t think about back to school just yet. No, this is the moment to soak up the season and add a few more freckles to your face.

Guide to The Flea: August

Savoring the summer is our top priority this month. School starts in less than two weeks, and patio time is in limited supply. Kick up your heels in a hammock while ice pops chill in the freezer. The last of the watermelon sits sliced and ready for snacking. Grab a bite for brunch, then slip into your favorite linen romper or caftan for a quick bike to the lake. Spread out on the pier and soak up the last of the rays with the help of your best cat-eye sunnies and a vintage Coleman cooler full of beer. Freckles look good on you!
