5 ways we do Sunday differently
People often ask, what's the diff between The Flea and Sunday Market? Well, it's not a mini Flea. Sunday Market is kind of like the Flea's little bro or sister. Just as hot, just as talented. A lot of the same DNA, far fewer rules. For those who need more specs, here are five ways we treat third Sundays differently:
1. Brunch, all day.
To put it plainly: we belong to the Church of Brunch. We're pretty sure people who celebrate brunch all day live longer, happier lives and make the world go 'round. Well, probably. Food vendors make up a quarter of the roster, and we carefully curate their flavors with neighborhood bites. Brunch has a knack for satisfying each of your taste buds. So does Sunday Market.
2. Umm, Champagne Garden!
We serve champagne cocktails, boozy slushies and classic French sips, fresh-shucked oysters and shooters, fine cheeses and fantastic macarons. It's pretty much everything you'd expect (nay, hope!) a Champagne Garden should be.
And we couldn't pull it off without the support of our nonprofit partners, Ohio City, Inc. and Transformer Station. Both organizations provide the space, guidance and expertise it takes to build a brunch-in block party to new heights.
3. We take it to the street.
Sunday Market isn't just about the vintage, handmade and delectable vendors that line West 29th Street. It builds the hustle-bustle with neighborhood storefronts, too. Sunday Market is equal parts pop-up market and Hingetown heart.
There's tea, coffee and juice, a community-anchor spin studio, pocket art museum, doggy shop, florist, hair salon, house of fun and neighborhood bar. Let's not forget the people. What would any community be without the dreamers, doers, business owners, residents, and customers who make the place come alive? Street markets have a way of shining extra spotlight on neighborhoods you should live/work/play any other day of the month too.
4. Great things, small packages.
Like we said, Sunday Market isn't just a mini Flea. It isn't simply about the food, either. Plenty of Flea shoppers moonlight as Sunday fans. Yet each event has its unique vibe. We're careful to create a Sunday experience that's stylish, loungey and fun. Our vendors do the same, curating collections handpicked for the Sunday crowd. There's less ground to cover (roughly one-third the number of vendors as Flea), leaving you more time to browse, try on that gorgeous vintage dress, meet friends, hop neighborhood shops and enjoy life.
5. Easy like Sunday morning, all day.
Set against the Cleveland skyline, Sunday Market has become the perfect place to indulge in the splendor of Sunday in the city. You'll thank yourself on Monday for spending the whole day lingering in the Champagne Garden or playing games in the Tabletop Game Garden. Think of it as retail therapy meets outdoor relaxation with a side of brunch. Bring the family, find your friends, come/go by yourself. We'll be here from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
