Shop Local Lit with our Cleveland Bookseller Guide

This September, The Flea goes literary in support of Cleveland Book Week. In addition to performances and readings by seven local authors, we'll be hosting an on-site popup bookshop and literary cafe! Under the tent of our pop-up bookshop you'll have the pleasure of browsing and buying from four of Cleveland's most notable independent booksellers. Read on below to see what–and who–is in-store!

Lynn Quintrell, Appletree Books

Appletree Books offers an eclectic, well-curated selection of new book titles in multiple genres for both children and adults.  Also featured are greeting cards, calendars, journals, note cards and letterpress cards in a warm, intimate space in the historic Heights Center building in the Cedar Fairmount neighborhood of Cleveland Heights, which they've occupied for 41 years as their original location.


RA Washington, Guide to Kulchur

Guide To Kulchur is a cooperative project founded by Lyz Bly, Ph.D. and RA Washington, and acts as an incubator for emergining and marginalized voices within the print medium. Their main projects include Cleveland Books 2 Prisoners, GTK Press, The Cleveland Zine Archive, and The Sally Tatnall Black Box.


Suzanne DeGaetano, Mac's Backs

Mac's Backs-Books on Coventry has three floors of new and used books & magazines. They're are located on Coventry Rd. in Cleveland Heights, a walking neighborhood near Cleveland's museums and Case Western Reserve University, and have a large selection of classics, mysteries, science fiction, contemporary fiction and non-fiction. Mac's hosts readings, booksignings, author events, book clubs and writing workshops.


Harriett Logan, Loganberry Books

Loganberry Books, established in November 1994 by Harriett Logan, is an independently owned and operated bookstore featuring carefully selected new, used and rare books. Some of the strengths of their collection include children’s and illustrated books, women’s history and literature, leatherbound and modern first editions, and fine and performing arts. Their browsable store contains well over 100,000 volumes for both readers and collectors.
