May Fresh Faces: Handmade & Vintage!

Every month our favorite Flea vendors set sail and plan their return to port Tyler to celebrate their new collections, creations, and new found treasures. In addition to our staple vendors we all love and come out to support each month, are our new vendors! Check back here every month to find out who will be joining our CLE Flea Fleet!
***We had so many new vendors this May that we busted-up the new vendors into two posts. Last, but not least: handmade and vintage!***

2 ODD BIRDS

  • Who they are: 2 ODD BIRDS brings a different perspective to the jewelry scene in Cleveland. Typically working in brass and copper with natural stone, they’ve also started to create their jewelry using a process called electroforming.  This allows copper to form around the curvature of each stone making each piece one of kind and show its natural beauty.
  • Why we love them: They bring together some really non-traditional techniques–electricity and crafting–to create some seriously beautiful stuff!

  • Team Flea Pick: A relative of the ever-popular dalmation Jasper, Rose Jasper is featured in this delicate setting by 2 ODD BIRDS.

Amends LLC

  • Who they are: Amends is the first male skin care company that focuses on improving the appearance of your skin.
  • Why we love them: Breaking gender barriers isn’t something that you see everyday, but it should be. Amends’ products are a reminder that everyone worries about how they look and deep down just wants to put their best face forward.

  • Team Flea Pick: Pick up a Rogue Concealer for yourself to hide blemishes, zits, razor bumps, and dark under eye circles. Not sure how to apply it? Their website has some super helpful descriptions to get you looking great.

Billy Ritter 77

  • Who they are: Billy Ritter is the maker of ceramics vessels, functional tableware, and drawings are all handcrafted one at a time, from start to finish, using locally purchased stoneware and house-made glazes.

  • Why we love them: These things of beauty aren’t just nice to look at… they’re also food safe. Eat, drink, and be merry!

  • Team Flea Pick: Bubble-glazed bowls with rust red rims are edgy and classy. We can’t wait to take a set home for ourselves!

Emily Roggenburk Photography + Products

  • Who they are: Emily Roggenburk's photography and products offer an amazing view of Cleveland via aerial photography on some of the most unforgettable days in the city's history.
  • Why we love them: They capture Cleveland from a helicopter. If that’s not cool, we don’t know what is.

  • Team Flea Pick: Would you get a load of the photo Emily took of the Cleveland Cavaliers’ championship parade? DANG, GIRL!

Fairly Fine Design

  • Who they are: Handmade furniture that combines modern design with traditional materials.
  • Why we love them: The craftsmanship of their products is so refined. Move over Ikea… we’re about to own some adult furniture!

  • Team Flea Pick: Why have one table when you can have three that stack? We love the flexibility of Fairly Fine’s kona wood nesting tables.

Good Grace Co.

  • Who they are: Good Grace Co. is run by the Birchfield women. Sisters Christi and Wendy grew up with a mom who inspired creativity and nurtured that in her children. Nancy, Christi, and Wendy create the objects and images that bring them joy. Macrame, ceramics, and printmaking are avenues of expression that these three women delight in and are excited to share with you.

  • Why we love them: They’re talented, yet know when to exercise the restraint that creates their finessed objects.

  • Team Flea Pick: Breakfast becomes more beautiful with a Good Grace Co. slipcast tea pot featuring an elm wood lid.

Inked & Dotted

  • Who they are: Inked & Dotted notes and cards are designed and created by hand in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. They also offer an artfully curated collection of signed, numbered, framed prints, t-shirts, onesies and dishtowels.

  • Why we love them: Inked & Dotted is a little bit sweet and a little bit tart… not for the faint-at-heart!

  • Team Flea Pick: Their black-and-white line drawn mother’s day cards have stolen our hearts.

Instant By Will

  • Who they are: The Instant Photography Project is a moving inquiry into the humanness of our surroundings. The collection is comprised chiefly of urban Brooklyn, New York and Cleveland, Ohio scenes.

  • Why we love them: They’ve created the perfect recipe for nostalgia… one part throwback photos, one part hometown love.

  • Team Flea Pick: What image could better encompass the Rust Belt than the view from Tremont down into the steel mills?

OohMyGouache

  • Who they are: Self taught watercolor artist Jenny Dienno enjoys painting vibrant watercolors that are inspired by traveling and meeting new people.

  • Why we love them: Prints AND originals are for sale…

  • Team Flea Pick: OohMyGouache’s adorable popsicle painting is the perfect reminder that summer is on it’s way… finally.

OR: the alternative

  • Who they are: OR: the alternative makes all-natural body care products in small batches using minimally processed oils, butters + essential oils.

  • Why we love them: They use their own products. Owner Lorraine actually developed her very first products as a way to find an organic treatment for her own skin ailments.

  • Team Flea Pick: The Flea may look all pretty and fun once it’s in front of the public, but the setup is downright dirty! Get us a jar of OR: the alternative’s abrasive hand cleaner to scrub the work day away. The unscented blend of sugar + Himalayan pink salt gently exfoliate, while coconut and tangerine oils rejuvenate + protect your skin.

Rustic Edge Boutique, LLC

  • Who they are: Rustic Edge Boutique is a fashion destination where west coast meets east coast.

  • Why we love them: Everything that they sell is both chic and comfortable!

  • Team Flea Pick: Not quite hot enough to be summer, not quite cool enough to be winter, spring has always made our wardrobe a little wonky. Thankfully, Rustic Edge Boutique’s slim-fit midi “Donna Dress” layers well with a bomber jacket.

Snakes + Acey's

Who they are: Snakes + Acey's specializes in hand designed and hand printed products including fine art prints, t-shirts, hoodies, tote bags, postcards/greeting cards, booze bags, coasters, and children's books.

  • Why we love them: Their production style is super DIY. They make it work… whatever “it” may be.

  • Team Flea Pick: As makers ourselves, we can really appreciate Snkes + Acey’s “Weapon of Choice” line.

Two Katies

  • Who they are: Modern-influenced handmade and vintage treasures for children and babies.

  • Why we love them: They’re both named Katie, and that’s dang cute.

  • Team Flea Pick: The heat of baby fever really turned up when we caught a glimpse of their adorable vintage wood crib and pastel “plaid” quilt.
