The power of community.

Hey Friends- Steph here. I just got back from a Mastermind retreat with 450 Life Coaches who were trained at the same school as me. It was inspiring and uplifting and gave me so much perspective that I needed to continue the work I want to do in this world.

I didn’t feel alone. I felt supported. But it’s not like we all come from the same backgrounds or even have the same personal values. There were coaches who are firmly planted in the Mormon Church. Coaches that help women after they choose abortion. Weight loss and Love Your Body As Is and Feminism and Marriage and Confidence and even one Running Coach.

But the thing that brings us together is personal evolution.

We all agree on one fundamental approach to personal growth- our thoughts shape our lives. And the study of how to re-work our brains so they help us achieve maximum impact in the world and in our lives is what brings us together and bonds us.

The power of community is real.

When I choose my community I also think of one important factor: I want my community to be made up of people who are doing BETTER than me. Thinking BIGGER than me. Believing HARDER than me. I want my community to be for my Future Self, not my present or past self. I want new thoughts that will push me to evolve.

I don’t want a community of complainers. Of people who just want to bitch about problems instead of learn to fix them. I don’t want a community of people who will hold me back. I want high-achievers and risk-takers.

I want to be around people who inspire me to be better. Period.

When you’re looking to join a community of small business owners in Cleveland- where do you turn? And what do you want from that?

Do you want a community that plays small?

Do you want a community that allows you to believe you’re not going to succeed?

Do you want a community that encourages you to take it easy and give up and blame the world for your results (or lack thereof)?

Our community plays big. Encourages you to think, act and do BIG.

So you can fundamentally change something about yourself. You can believe one day you’re incapable of selling, then you sell your butt off at Cleveland Flea. Now you’re someone who ISN’T plagued by thoughts of underselling.

You can believe one day that no one likes what you make- then you can TEST that theory at our market. This is what a business community could do for you. If it’s what you want.

At Cleveland Flea, you can find people who are also trying to be the best they can be. They’re stepping up to the plate. They’re risking failure, just like you (which is also part of getting better at things).

But the thing we don’t encourage is staying small. Playing small. Believing you’re not going to make it.

Join us at Creative Conversations Conference, and surround yourself with a community that can help you grow.
